What's the origin of your username?

  My username actually comes from my time in Japanese Culture Society in college! We had a tradition where the transfer students would take your name in Katakana and assign you kanji. My name in English is Crista. So in katakana it's クリスタ. クリ is easy since it's a Chestnut 🌰, スタ doesn't really translate 1 to 1 so they hopped on denshi jisho and said it meant something like "to go bad, to go extinct, to no longer exist". So I asked them if I was a Spoiled Chestnut and they said [はい、そうです。]

  A nightwish song. I have also another username that is Nighttaker, which is an Unguided song. Somehow the edge username.i had as a tern just stuck and sometime later i found nighttaker and it's such an over.the top name i only use it on fun occasions.

  Years when discord was more mean and rules were less enforced, I was often harassed and verbally abused for my username and for the fact I was Canadian. I wanted a way to show people I was Canadian, but only if the other person was Canadian as well. Trillium grandiflorum is the official flower for Ontario so people who know and like Canada will see my username and make the connection. This way I get to speak to people about my country who won't insult me for it and I don't have to risk trying to speak about it to people who are meanies.
