What is the best advice you've received for being productive at work?

  When my senior employee at the last company implied, with a wink, that I should not immediately report that I have finished my assignment because the time I had gotten scheduled was significantly larger than the time it took to complete it. We had been running and running and running some more, all getting exhausted from doing task after task. I literally never thought of stopping. I've been doing that a lot more since then. This goes well with another thing my previous boss at my current company told me. He said, at one point, during a project that was stressing another project manager out to no end, that it is not the project managers job to make sure a project finishes. That is the job of the stakeholder. You as the project manager or product owner facilitate the project, but if the stakeholder doesn't seem interested in pushing it along, you don't have to kill yourself to do it for them. These don't sound like they make you particularly more productive, but being productive also means not burning yourself out. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

  I don't have to feel hesitant to have a different opinion and talk about it frankly with my boss I know about my tasks better than him as what he does and what I do at work are different
