  I think most japanese people of my generation have heard the name, there was a rikishi, named 朝青龍 (Asa-sho-ryu) he's from Mongolia and didn't get a lot of support when he first appeared. after all, it couldn't be helped that the japanese people want japanese rikishi to grab victory. however, asashoryu gradually becomes a national hero due to his unparalleled strength and charisma.
